Le Pacte, stellt familiäre Fragen, aus der Sicht von achtzehn Künstlern, den Begriff des familiären Engagements. Als sich ständig entwickelnde kulturelle Einheit wird die Familie als eine Gruppe von Personen gebildet, die durch Blut oder Ehe miteinander verbunden sind. Die Familie ist der Ort einer ontologischen Beziehungsbindung, des Übergangs von einer Individualität zu einem Kollektiv und damit einer gemeinsamen Verpflichtung, sowohl emotional als auch physisch. Dieser Werkkorpus greift auf Fotos aus den Bereichen Intimität, Inszenierung und Dokumentation zurück. Die Vielfalt der Perioden (1945-2001) und der abgedeckten Regionen (Kanada, Vereinigte Staaten, Frankreich, Japan, Mali, Mexiko, Russland, Schweiz) bietet eine Vielzahl von Darstellungen.
Le Pacte familial questionne, à travers le regard de dix-huit artistes, la notion d’engagement familial. Entité culturelle en permanente évolution, la famille se constitue comme un ensemble de personnes formant un groupe et ayant des liens de parenté par le sang ou par alliance. La famille est le lieu d’un engagement relationnel ontologique, du passage d’une individualité à un collectif, et donc d’un engagement commun, à la fois émotionnel et physique. Ce corpus d’œuvres puise à la fois dans des photographies relevant des champs de l’intime, de la mise en scène ou du documentaire. La diversité des époques (1945-2001) et des géographies abordées (Canada, États-Unis, France, Japon, Mali, Mexique, Russie, Suisse) offre une pluralité de représentations.
Le Pacte familial questions, through the eyes of eighteen artists, the notion of family engagement. As a constantly evolving cultural entity, the family is constituted as a group of persons who are related by blood or marriage. The family is the place of an ontological relational commitment, of the transition from an individuality to a collective, and therefore of a common commitment, both emotional and physical. This corpus of works draws on photographs from the fields of intimacy, staging and documentary. The diversity of the periods (1945-2001) and geographies covered (Canada, United States, France, Japan, Mali, Mexico, Russia, Switzerland) offers a plurality of representations.
