Grenzland im Fokus. 100 Jahre Burgenland

„Grenzland im Fokus“ ist in Kooperation mit den Kulturbetrieben Burgenland und dem Burgenländischen Landesarchiv entstanden, das seine Sammlung erstmals in diesem Umfang für die Ausstellung geöffnet hat. Ergänzt werden die historischen Fotografien durch ausgewählte zeitgenössische Positionen, darunter Arbeiten der Wahlburgenländer*innen Elfie Semotan und Andreas H. Bitesnich, des in Mannersdorf an der Rabnitz geborenen Fotografen David Schermann, von Peter Coeln & Francesca Catastini, Alex Lang sowie Florian Rainer.
Für die Ausstellung haben die Kurator*innen rund 100 Aufnahmen aus den mehr als 500.000 historischen Fotografien in den Beständen des Landesarchivs ausgewählt. Die teils berührenden, teils witzigen und mitunter skurrilen Bilder zeigen nicht nur den burgenländischen Alltag der letzten 100 Jahre, charakteristische Landschaften oder die prägenden Ereignisse der Landesgeschichte. In den Aufnahmen spiegeln sich auch Entwicklungen wider, die weit über die Region hinausreichten.
"Grenzland im Fokus" a été réalisé en coopération avec les entreprises culturelles du Burgenland et les Archives du Burgenland, qui ont ouvert leur collection pour la première fois à cette échelle pour l'exposition. Les photographies historiques sont complétées par une sélection de positions contemporaines, dont les travaux des Burgenlandais d'adoption* Elfie Semotan et Andreas H. Bitesnich, du photographe David Schermann, né à Mannersdorf an der Rabnitz, de Peter Coeln & Francesca Catastini, d'Alex Lang et de Florian Rainer.
Pour l'exposition, les curateurs* ont sélectionné une centaine de clichés parmi les plus de 500.000 photographies historiques conservées dans les fonds des Archives nationales. Les images, parfois touchantes, parfois drôles et parfois bizarres, ne montrent pas seulement le quotidien du Burgenland des 100 dernières années, des paysages caractéristiques ou les événements marquants de l'histoire du Land. Les clichés reflètent également des évolutions qui ont largement dépassé les frontières de la région.
"Grenzland im Fokus" è stato creato in collaborazione con la Kulturbetriebe Burgenland e l'Archivio Provinciale del Burgenland, che ha aperto la sua collezione per la prima volta per questa mostra. Le fotografie storiche sono integrate da posizioni contemporanee selezionate, tra cui opere di Elfie Semotan e Andreas H. Bitesnich, fotografi nati a Mannersdorf an der Rabnitz, David Schermann, Peter Coeln & Francesca Catastini, Alex Lang e Florian Rainer.
Per la mostra, i curatori hanno selezionato circa 100 fotografie dalle oltre 500.000 fotografie storiche presenti nel patrimonio del Landesarchiv. Le immagini, alcune delle quali sono commoventi, alcune divertenti e alcune bizzarre, non solo mostrano la vita quotidiana nel Burgenland negli ultimi 100 anni, i paesaggi caratteristici o gli eventi determinanti della storia della provincia. Le fotografie riflettono anche gli sviluppi che hanno raggiunto ben oltre la regione.
The exhibition was created in cooperation with Burgenland and the Burgenland Provincial Archives, which opened its collection to this extent for the first time for the exhibition. The historical photographs are complemented by selected contemporary positions, including works by Elfie Semotan and Andreas H. Bitesnich, photographers born in Mannersdorf an der Rabnitz, David Schermann, Peter Coeln & Francesca Catastini, Alex Lang and Florian Rainer.
For the exhibition, the curators have selected around 100 photographs from the more than 500,000 historical photographs in the holdings of the Landesarchiv. The pictures, some of which are touching, some funny and some bizarre, not only show everyday life in Burgenland over the last 100 years, characteristic landscapes or the defining events of the province's history. The photographs also reflect developments that reached far beyond the region.
