Die Galerie 29 ARTS IN PROGRESS ist stolz darauf, zum ersten Mal in Mailand die Werke des Fotografen Gabriele Micalizzi zu präsentieren. Die von Tiziana Castelluzzo kuratierte Ausstellung mit dem Titel "A KIND OF BEAUTY" versammelt raffinierte, mit Silbersalzen gedruckte Schwarzweiß- und Farbfotografien, die sorgfältig aus den im Archiv des Künstlers aufbewahrten Negativen ausgewählt wurden.
Gezeigt werden die wichtigsten Aufnahmen der wichtigsten Schauplätze der Auseinandersetzungen der letzten zwanzig Jahre, angefangen bei den arabischen Revolutionen, über die Konflikte im Nahen Osten gegen das Kalifat bis hin zur heutigen Ukraine und Palästina.
Der Wunsch, einen Weg zur Fotografie einzuschlagen, der aus einem dokumentarischen Bedürfnis heraus entstanden ist, aber eine eigene Ästhetik und Bedeutung hat, die über den Grund ihrer Entstehung hinausgeht, ergibt sich aus einer präzisen Wahl der Positionierung, die durch die langjährige Erfahrung der Galerie gereift ist, um neuen Visionen und Einblicken in die Realitäten, die die Geschichte der letzten zwanzig Jahre geprägt haben, Raum zu geben.
La galerie 29 ARTS IN PROGRESS est fière de présenter, pour la première fois à Milan, les œuvres du photographe Gabriele Micalizzi. L'exposition, intitulée "A KIND OF BEAUTY" et organisée par Tiziana Castelluzzo, rassemble des photographies raffinées allant du noir et blanc imprimé avec des sels d'argent à la couleur, soigneusement sélectionnées parmi les négatifs conservés dans les archives de l'artiste.
L'exposition présente les clichés les plus significatifs des principaux théâtres d'affrontements de ces vingt dernières années, depuis les révolutions arabes, en passant par les conflits moyen-orientaux contre le califat, jusqu'à l'Ukraine et la Palestine d'aujourd'hui.
Le désir de s'engager dans une voie photographique née d'une nécessité documentaire, mais qui contient une esthétique et une signification propres qui vont au-delà de la raison pour laquelle elle a été créée, dérive d'un choix précis de positionnement mûri au cours de nombreuses années d'expérience de la part de la galerie pour donner de l'espace à de nouvelles visions et à des aperçus de réalités qui ont marqué l'histoire de ces vingt dernières années.
29 ARTS IN PROGRESS gallery è orgogliosa di presentare, per la prima volta a Milano, le opere del fotografo Gabriele Micalizzi. La mostra, intitolata “A KIND OF BEAUTY”, curata da Tiziana Castelluzzo, riunisce raffinate fotografie dal bianco e nero stampate ai sali d’argento al colore, accuratamente selezionate dai negativi conservati nell’archivio dell’artista.
In mostra gli scatti più significativi che ritraggono i principali teatri degli scontri dell’ultimo ventennio, partendo dalle rivoluzioni arabe, passando dai conflitti mediorientali contro il califfato ed arrivando fino all’odierna Ucraina e Palestina.
La volontà di intraprendere un percorso verso una fotografia nata da un’esigenza documentaristica, ma che contiene un’estetica e un significato proprio che va al di là del motivo per cui nasce, deriva da una precisa scelta di posizionamento maturata nella pluriennale esperienza da parte della galleria di dare spazio a nuove visioni e spaccati di realtà che hanno segnato la storia degli ultimi vent’anni.
29 ARTS IN PROGRESS gallery is proud to present the works of photographer Gabriele Micalizzi, for the first time in Milan. The exhibition, called “A KIND OF BEAUTY”, curated by Tiziana Castelluzzo, brings together the finest photographs, ranging from black and white prints to gelatin silver prints and colour, painstakingly selected from negatives preserved in the artist’s archive.
On display are the most significant shots depicting some of the venues of the biggest clashes of the last two decades, starting from the Arab revolutions, passing through the conflicts in the Middle Eastern against the caliphate through to the current conflicts in the Ukraine and Palestine.
The desire to embark on a journey towards a type of photography resulting from a documentary need, but containing its own aesthetics and meaning that goes beyond the reason for its inception, derives from a precise positioning choice reached throughout the gallery’s many years of experience in making space for new visions and fragments of reality that have marked the history of the last twenty years.
