Grenze - ein nicht gewinnorientiertes Festival, das bereits zum vierten Mal stattfindet - verlegt seinen Veranstaltungsort in das Veronetta-Viertel an der Bastione delle Maddalene, dank der Zusammenarbeit zwischen dem UNESCO Relations Department und dem Culture Department - Scavi Scaligeri International Photography Centre der Stadt Verona.
Das Thema der Ausgabe 2021 ist ein weiteres deutsches Wort: Peripherie Periferia bedeutet Umkreis, vom Verb peri-fero, herumtragen, drehen, und impliziert somit die Existenz eines Zentrums. Peripherie ist das, was außerhalb eines Zentrums liegt, am Rande, weit weg, kontrastierend, anders. Die Peripherie ist also eine Möglichkeit, den Blick auf das Zentrum zu richten. Die Peripherie als Notwendigkeit, das Zentrum mit anderen Augen zu sehen. Die Peripherie als Labor, das den Fliehkräften eine zentripetale Richtung aufzwingt, um die Abfälle, die Marginalitäten, das, was sich an den Rändern des Systems befindet, zurückzugewinnen.
Die vierte Auflage zeichnet sich auch durch ihren pädagogischen Wert aus. Zwei Workshops werden im Palladio Design Institute veranstaltet. Die erste, kuratiert von Ernesto Bazan, ist der Fotobearbeitung gewidmet, während sich die zweite, geleitet von Magnum-Fotograf Nikos Economopoulos, mit Street Photography beschäftigt.
Das Ziel, das im Laufe der Jahre verfolgt wurde, war es, die internationale Fotografie nach Verona zurückzubringen, junge Menschen in der Sprache der Meister der Fotografie durch Labore, Treffen und Workshops auszubilden, neuen Talenten die Chance zu geben, gesehen und bekannt zu werden, Synergien und Beziehungen mit anderen Städten zu schaffen, die für neue Sprachen sensibilisiert sind, ein Publikum in Verona zu erziehen, das für die Fotografie, ihre Formen und Genres sensibilisiert ist, und ein effektives Projekt zwischen Schulen und dem Gebiet zu schaffen.
Grenze - festival à but non lucratif qui en est à sa quatrième édition - se déplace dans le quartier de Veronetta, au Bastione delle Maddalene, grâce à la collaboration du service des relations avec l'UNESCO et du service de la culture - Centre international de la photographie Scavi Scaligeri de la ville de Vérone.
Le thème de l'édition 2021 est encore un autre mot en allemand : Peripherie Periferia signifie circonférence, du verbe peri-fero porter autour, tourner, et implique donc l'existence d'un centre. La périphérie est ce qui se trouve en dehors d'un centre, en marge, loin, contrastant, différent. La périphérie est donc la possibilité d'un regard vers le centre. La périphérie comme le besoin de regarder le centre avec des yeux différents. La périphérie comme laboratoire qui impose aux forces centrifuges une direction centripète pour récupérer les déchets, les marginalités, ce qui se trouve sur les bords du système.
La quatrième édition se caractérise également par sa valeur pédagogique. Deux ateliers seront organisés au Palladio Design Institute. La première, organisée par Ernesto Bazan, est consacrée à l'édition photographique, tandis que la seconde, dirigée par le photographe de l'agence Magnum Nikos Economopoulos, traite de la photographie de rue.
L'objectif poursuivi au fil des ans est de ramener la photographie internationale à Vérone, de former les jeunes au langage des maîtres de la photographie à travers des laboratoires, des rencontres et des ateliers, de donner aux nouveaux talents la possibilité d'être vus et connus, de créer des synergies et des relations avec d'autres villes sensibles aux nouveaux langages, d'éduquer un public véronais sensible à la photographie, à ses formes et à ses genres et de créer un projet efficace entre les écoles et le territoire.
Grenze - festival no-profit giunto alla quarta edizione – sposta la sua sede nel quartiere di Veronetta al Bastione delle Maddalene grazie alla collaborazione con Assessorato ai Rapporti UNESCO e l'Assessorato alla Cultura – Centro Internazionale di Fotografia Scavi Scaligeri del Comune di Verona.
Il Tema dell'edizione 2021 è ancora una parola in tedesco: Peripherie Periferia significa circonferenza dal verbo peri-fero portare in giro, girare e sottende quindi l’esistenza di un centro. Periferia è ciò che trovandosi fuori da un centro, è ai margini, lontano, contrastante, differente. Peripherie è dunque una possibilità di uno sguardo verso il centro. P e r iferia come necessità di guardare al centro con occhi diversi. Periferia come laboratorio che impone alle forze centrifughe una direzione centripeta per recuperare gli scarti, le marginalità, ciò che è ai bordi del sistema.
Anche la quarta edizione si caratterizza per la sua valenza formativa. Due i Workshop ospitati presso l’Istituto Design Palladio. Il primo a cura di Ernesto Bazan è dedicato all’editing fotografico, il secondo, condotto dal fotografo Magnum Nikos Economopoulos riguarda la Street Photography.
Obiettivo perseguito negli anni è quello di riportare la fotografia internazionale a Verona, formare i giovani al linguaggio dei maestri della fotografia attraverso laboratori, incontri e workshop, dare ai nuovi talenti la possibilità di essere visti e conosciuti, creare sinergie e relazioni con altre città sensibili ai nuovi linguaggi, educare a Verona un pubblico sensibile alla fotografia, alle sue forme e generi e creare una progettualità efficace tra scuola e territorio.
Grenze - a non-profit festival now in its fourth edition - moves its headquarters to the Bastione delle Maddalene in the district of Veronetta thanks to the collaboration with the UNESCO’s Department of Relationship and the Department of Culture - International Photography Center Scavi Scaligeri of Municipality of Verona.
The Theme of the 2021 edition is still a word in German: Peripherie. Periphery means circumference from the verb peri-fero to carry around, turn around and thus implies the existence of a centre. Periphery is what being outside a centre, is on the edge, far, contrasting, different. Peripherie is therefore a possibility of a look towards the centre. Periphery as a need to look at the centre with different eyes. Periphery as a laboratory that imposes on centrifugal forces a centripetal direction to recover leftovers, margins, what is at the edges of the system.
The fourth edition is also characterized by its educational value. Two workshops are held at the Palladio Design Institute. The first curated by Ernesto Bazan is dedicated to photo editing, the second, conducted by photographer Magnum Nikos Economopoulos concerns Street Photography.
The goal to be pursued over the years is to bring international photography back to Verona, training young people to the language of the masters of photography through workshops, meetings and workshops, allowing new talents to be seen and known, create synergies and relationships with other cities sensitive to new languages, educate in Verona an audience sensitive to photography, its forms and genres and creating effective planning between school and territory.
