How to Love a Tree: Wilde Begegnungen" ist ein fortlaufendes Projekt, das 2019 startet. In den einzelnen Kapiteln der Studie werden koloniale Einflüsse und geografische Veränderungen mit ihren nachhaltigen Auswirkungen beleuchtet. Nabis Arbeit entsteht durch ihre Auseinandersetzung mit der Umwelt in Pakistan: ehemalige koloniale Bergstationen in und um die Städte, Dörfer und umliegenden blauen Kiefernwälder von Murree und der Galiyat-Region.
Nabi sieht diese Orte als zerfallende Ökosysteme, deren Geschichte von der Kolonialherrschaft geprägt ist. Sie konzentriert sich darauf, die Überbleibsel dieser schmerzhaften Vergangenheit in den heutigen Touristenzielen in den Bergen sichtbar zu machen. Hier vermischen sich die Spuren der Ausbeutung mit den Ausdrucksformen des Kapitalismus, während sich die Umwelt weiter verschlechtert.
Comment aimer un arbre : Wild Encounters est un projet en cours lancé en 2019. Les différents chapitres de l'étude mettent en lumière les influences coloniales et les changements géographiques avec leurs effets durables. Le travail de Nabi naît de son engagement avec l'environnement situé au Pakistan : les anciennes stations de montagne coloniales dans et autour des villes, des villages et des forêts de pins bleus environnantes de Murree et de la région de Galiyat.
Nabi considère ces lieux comme des écosystèmes qui s'effritent et dont l'histoire est marquée par la domination coloniale. Elle s'attache à rendre visibles les vestiges de ce passé douloureux dans ce qui est aujourd'hui des destinations touristiques dans les collines. Ici, les traces de l'exploitation se mêlent aux expressions du capitalisme, tandis que la détérioration de l'environnement se poursuit.
Come amare un albero: Wild Encounters è un progetto in corso lanciato nel 2019. I singoli capitoli dello studio evidenziano le influenze coloniali e i cambiamenti geografici con i loro effetti duraturi. Il lavoro di Nabi nasce dal suo impegno con l'ambiente situato in Pakistan: le ex stazioni collinari coloniali nelle città, nei villaggi e nelle foreste di pini blu circostanti di Murree e della regione di Galiyat.
Nabi vede questi luoghi come ecosistemi che si stanno sgretolando, con una storia segnata dal dominio coloniale. L'autrice si concentra sul rendere visibili i resti di questo passato doloroso in quelle che oggi sono destinazioni turistiche sulle colline. Qui le tracce dello sfruttamento si mescolano alle espressioni del capitalismo, mentre il deterioramento dell'ambiente continua.
How to Love a Tree: Wild Encounters is an ongoing project launched in 2019. The individual chapters of the study highlight colonial influences and geographical changes with their lasting effects. Nabi's work comes about through her engagement with the environment situated in Pakistan: former colonial hill stations in and around the towns, villages and surrounding blue pine forests of Murree, and the Galiyat region.
Nabi sees these places as ecosystems that are crumbling, with a history marked by colonial rule. She focuses on making remnants of this painful past visible in what are now tourist destinations in the hills. Here, traces of exploitation mingle with expressions of capitalism, while the deterioration of the environment continues.
