Drei Fotografen schlagen ihre persönliche Interpretation der Geheimnisse und Vorschläge vor, die die Kunst der Verführung steuern, verstanden als eine raffinierte - nicht nur erotische - Fähigkeit, Faszination anzuziehen und zu wecken, auf der Suche nach einem möglichen gemeinsamen Nenner eines Konzepts, das im Laufe der Zeit so veränderlich ist und doch so oft in seinen vielen Aspekten geteilt wird.
Für Giuseppe Mastromatteo wird die Verführung gefangen genommen, indem er den Weg der Realität verlässt: Seine unveröffentlichten Porträts (Teil der neuen Serie Eclipse 2020), die in eine Lichtfinsternis getaucht sind, führen uns in einen unsicheren Raum, in dem nie alles enthüllt und ausgedrückt wird, und geben uns jenes Geheimnis zurück, das die natürliche Voraussetzung des Begehrens ist.
In Toni Meneguzzos großformatigen Polaroids durchdringt uns eine fast ätherische Atmosphäre, in der sich die Realität verliert und Raum für die schwebende Zeit lässt: Hier ist die Sinnlichkeit den kleinen Gesten und weichen Formen seiner eleganten weiblichen Protagonistinnen anvertraut.
Dicht mit einer unbestreitbaren Ladung, versetzen uns Rankins Bilder schließlich in ein Universum von Trieben und Instinkten, geprägt von den leuchtenden, fast gewalttätigen Farben, aus denen die verspielte und ebenso ikonenhafte Sinnlichkeit des britischen Fotografen hervorgeht.
Tre fotografi propongono la loro personale interpretazione di segreti e suggestioni che regolano l’arte della seduzione, intesa come raffinata capacità – non solo erotica – di attrarre e suscitare fascino, alla ricerca di un possibile comun denominatore di un concetto tanto mutevole nel tempo eppure così spesso condivisibile nei suoi molteplici aspetti.
Per Giuseppe Mastromatteo, la seduzione si coglie abbandonando la strada della realtà: questi suoi inediti ritratti (parte della nuova serie Eclipse 2020), immersi in un’eclissi di luce, ci conducono in uno spazio incerto dove mai tutto è svelato ed espresso, restituendoci quel mistero che del desiderio è la naturale premessa.
Nelle Polaroid grande formato di Toni Meneguzzo si è pervasi da un’atmosfera quasi eterea, in cui il reale si perde e lascia spazio ad un tempo sospeso: qui la sensualità è affidata alle piccole gestualità e alle morbide forme delle sue elegantissime protagoniste femminili.
Dense di una carica indubitabile, le immagini di Rankin ci trasportano infine in un universo di pulsioni e istinto, modellato dai colori brillanti, quasi violenti, da cui emerge la giocosa e altrettanto iconica sensualità del fotografo britannico.
Leading back to itself, but also diverging. To conquer, but also to take away. To appear, but also to dissolve.
Although dealing with the same theme, exhibiting artists embody the art of seduction with their distinctive vision: an art understood as a refined ability – not only erotic – to attract and evoke charm.
Giuseppe Mastromatteo’s new study on the subject of identity, a never before seen body of work deviates from the obvious and the hyper-real, the easily categorised. In his new series Eclipse 2020, seduction embraces the dialectic process whereby nothing is ever fully revealed, where nothing is ever fully expressed or clearly defined: a mystery that provokes desire.
Toni Meneguzzo’s large format Polaroid photographs are pervaded by an evanescent atmosphere of a suspended time where sensuality is all about small gestures and soft forms of his elegant women.
Reality is shattered leaving space to an imago which opens a door onto the unexpected and the unforeseen. Each Polaroid, with the triggering of the sign, activates the passion and curiosity for the mysterious world of appearances.
The series by Rankin holds an undeniable energetic charge. The images return our gaze, take on a power of their own, become autonomous.
Here, the act of seduction is so fierce a force of attraction as to take the viewer hostage.
A constructed world, a bombastic, energy-rich, instinctive world cloaked in violent colour.
