Josef Sedlák
Jozef Sedlák ist einer der wenigen slowakischen Fotografen, der sowohl der Dokumentar- als auch der Kunstfotografie nahe steht. Ein Teil seiner Arbeit ist mit dem Leben von Menschen mit besonderen Herausforderungen oder Verlassenen in Anstalten verbunden. Andere wesentliche Arbeiten setzen sich mittels konzeptioneller Fotografie und Dokumentation mit gesellschaftlichen Ereignissen auseinander. Wir zeigen in dieser Ausstellung eine breites Spektrum seines Wirkens. Die Arbeiten über Menschen mit besonderen Herausforderungen am Beispiel des Karnevals ebenso wie Dokumentation über die Ausgesetztheit am Beispiel der militärischer Musterung junger Rekruten, der Herausforderung einer Individualität in kollektiven Gesellschaftsformen sowie einer komplexen Arbeit über New York, die auch auf die Einwirkung jeder Betrachtung des fotografischen Materials auf seinen sichtbaren und vergänglichen Inhalt eingeht.
Josef Sedlak, Studium der künstlerischen Fotografie an der Film- und Fernsehschule der Akademie der darstellenden Künste in Prag. Er ist Leiter des Kommunikationsstudios für Fotografie an der Abteilung für künstlerische Kommunikation FMK UCM in Trnava und externer Dozent an der Abteilung für Fotografie und Neue Medien der Akademie der Bildenden Künste und Design in Bratislava. Neben pädagogischen Tätigkeiten umfasst seine Arbeit inszenierte, dokumentarische und konzeptuelle Fotografie. Seine Arbeiten wurden einzeln oder als Teil eines Kollektivs in Tschechien, Österreich, Ungarn, Deutschland, Italien, Großbritannien, Schweden, Griechenland, Frankreich, Polen, Russland, Japan und den USA ausgestellt.
Jozef Sedlák est l'un des rares photographes slovaques à être proche à la fois de la photographie documentaire et de la photographie d'art. Une partie de son travail est liée à la vie des personnes ayant des difficultés particulières ou des personnes abandonnées dans des institutions. D'autres travaux importants traitent des événements sociaux par le biais de la photographie conceptuelle et de la documentation. Nous présentons un large éventail de ses travaux dans cette exposition. Des travaux sur les personnes ayant des difficultés particulières, en utilisant l'exemple du carnaval, ainsi que des documents sur l'abandon, en utilisant l'exemple du rassemblement militaire des jeunes recrues, le défi de l'individualité dans les formes collectives de la société, ainsi qu'un travail complexe sur New York, qui traite également de l'effet de chaque visionnement du matériel photographique sur son contenu visible et transitoire.
Josef Sedlak, a étudié la photographie artistique à l'école de cinéma et de télévision de l'Académie des arts du spectacle de Prague. Il dirige le studio de communication pour la photographie au département de communication artistique FMK UCM de Trnava et est chargé de cours externe au département de photographie et de nouveaux médias de l'Académie des beaux-arts et du design de Bratislava. En plus de ses activités pédagogiques, son travail comprend la photographie mise en scène, documentaire et conceptuelle. Son travail a été exposé individuellement ou en tant que membre d'un collectif en République tchèque, en Autriche, en Hongrie, en Allemagne, en Italie, au Royaume-Uni, en Suède, en Grèce, en France, en Pologne, en Russie, au Japon et aux États-Unis.
Jozef Sedlák è uno dei pochi fotografi slovacchi che è vicino sia alla fotografia documentaria che a quella artistica. Parte del suo lavoro è legato alla vita di persone con sfide speciali o di persone abbandonate nelle istituzioni. Altri lavori significativi riguardano gli eventi sociali attraverso la fotografia concettuale e la documentazione. In questa mostra mostriamo un ampio spettro del suo lavoro. Lavori su persone con sfide speciali, usando l'esempio del carnevale, così come la documentazione sull'abbandono, usando l'esempio del raduno militare delle giovani reclute, la sfida dell'individualità nelle forme collettive della società, così come un complesso lavoro su New York, che si occupa anche dell'effetto di ogni visione del materiale fotografico sul suo contenuto visibile e transitorio.
Josef Sedlak, ha studiato fotografia artistica alla Scuola di Cinema e Televisione dell'Accademia delle Arti dello Spettacolo di Praga. È il capo dello studio di comunicazione per la fotografia presso il Dipartimento di Comunicazione Artistica FMK UCM di Trnava e un docente esterno presso il Dipartimento di Fotografia e Nuovi Media all'Accademia di Belle Arti e Design di Bratislava. Oltre alle attività pedagogiche, il suo lavoro comprende la fotografia di scena, documentaria e concettuale. Il suo lavoro è stato esposto individualmente o come parte di una collettiva in Repubblica Ceca, Austria, Ungheria, Germania, Italia, Regno Unito, Svezia, Grecia, Francia, Polonia, Russia, Giappone e Stati Uniti.
Jozef Sedlák is one of the few Slovak photographers who is close to both documentary and art photography. Part of his work is related to the lives of people with special challenges or abandoned in institutions. Other significant works deal with social events through conceptual photography and documentation. In this exhibition we show a wide spectrum of his work. The works about people with special challenges using the example of carnival as well as documentation about abandonment using the example of military muster of young recruits, the challenge of an individuality in collective forms of society as well as a complex work about New York, which also deals with the influence of each observation of the photographic material on its visible and transient content.
Josef Sedlak, studied artistic photography at the Film and Television School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. He is the head of the communication studio for photography at the Department of Artistic Communication FMK UCM in Trnava and an external lecturer at the Department of Photography and New Media at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. In addition to pedagogical activities, his work includes staged, documentary and conceptual photography. His work has been exhibited individually or as part of a collective in the Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Germany, Italy, Great Britain, Sweden, Greece, France, Poland, Russia, Japan and the USA.
