Trieste Photo Days - International Urban Photo festival

Trieste Photo Days ist ein internationales Festival, das der urbanen Fotografie gewidmet ist und seit 2014 die Zeitgenossenschaft durch alle Formen der Fotografie im Gefüge der Stadt erforscht.
Das Festival hat sich im Laufe der Jahre als kreativer, medienübergreifender Container etabliert, der Ausstellungen italienischer und ausländischer Künstler, Workshops, Filmvorführungen, Wettbewerbe, Buchpräsentationen, Treffen und andere Veranstaltungen rund um die Fotografie zusammenbringt. Ein Ort der Begegnung und des Austauschs zwischen Publikum und Fotografen, sowohl Profis als auch Amateuren.
Gemeinsamer Nenner ist die Stadt, das urbane Umfeld und die Menschen, die es bevölkern: das tägliche Leben der Metropole und der Kleinstädte, die Kontraste und Widersprüche der Stadt und der Provinz, die künstlerischen Einblicke, die architektonischen Geometrien, die Farbfragmente, die die graue Stadt durchbrechen.
Das Ziel des Festivals ist es, eine Art von Fotografie zu fördern, die künstlerischen, dokumentarischen, ethnographischen und soziologischen Wert hat und ein Zeugnis der heutigen Zeit darstellt. Ein Querschnitt urbaner Zeitgenossenschaft, die über die gesellschaftlichen Veränderungen in der Großstadt ebenso sprechen kann wie im kleinen Dorf.
Die Trieste Photo Days stehen unter der künstlerischen Leitung von Angelo Cucchetto, Eventplaner, Publizist, Kritiker und Fotopromoter aus Mailand, Gründer von Photographers.it, dem wichtigsten italienischen Portal, das sich der Fotografie widmet und offizieller Medienpartner des Festivals ist.
Der Schöpfer und Leiter des Projekts ist dotART, eine kulturelle Vereinigung, die seit 2009 im In- und Ausland Initiativen fördert, die darauf ausgerichtet sind, professionellen und Amateur-Fotografen Unterstützung und Sichtbarkeit zu geben. Insbesondere fördert dotART seit 2010 den internationalen Wettbewerb für urbane Fotografie URBAN Photo Awards, der einer der wichtigsten "Kulturtanks" des Festivals ist.
In der Tat sehen die URBAN Photo Awards jedes Jahr tausende von Fotos im Wettbewerb und hunderte von Teilnehmern aus der ganzen Welt. Es ist ein Wettbewerb mit internationaler Reichweite, der ständig wächst, einer der wenigen, der die Grenzen des Webs überschreitet" und den Fotografen durch Dutzende von reisenden Fotoausstellungen auf der ganzen Welt echte Sichtbarkeit bietet. Allein im Jahr 2017 richtete URBAN 36 Ausstellungen für fast 800 ausgestellte Fotos ein, 300 davon während der Trieste Photo Days. Seit 2011 hat URBAN Ausstellungen in Polen (Krakau, Lodz und Warschau), Ungarn (Budapest, Pècs und Miskolc), Zypern (Limassol, Paphos und Nikosia), Serbien (Belgrad) Lettland (Riga), Slowenien (Koper), Ukraine (Sumy), Kroatien (Porec), Deutschland (Berlin), Kolumbien (Bucaramanga) und Italien (Triest und Rom) aufgebaut.
Parallel zum Hauptprogramm der Ausstellung findet das Trieste Photo Fringe statt, ein "breit angelegtes Festival" der Trieste Photo Days, das eine Reihe von Veranstaltungen umfasst, die aufstrebenden Autoren aus aller Welt gewidmet sind. Eine Veranstaltung, die in der Lage ist, das ganze Jahr über Kultur in Triest durch improvisierte Veranstaltungen in Verbindung mit dem Festival zu machen. Von Januar bis Dezember finden die Ausstellungen des Fringe in einem Kreis von 12-15 ausgewählten Veranstaltungsorten und Ausstellungsorten im Zentrum von Triest Platz und tragen dazu bei, dem Festival Sichtbarkeit zu verleihen. Die Fringe-Veranstaltungen finden ihren Höhepunkt während der Trieste Photo Days mit einer Reihe von Ausstellungseröffnungen in Anwesenheit der Autoren und des künstlerischen Leiters.
Das Ziel ist es, eine internationale Veranstaltung auf jährlicher Basis ins Leben zu rufen, die zu einem Bezugspunkt in Italien und Europa werden soll.
Les Journées de la Photo de Trieste sont un festival international dédié à la photographie urbaine qui, depuis 2014, explore la contemporanéité à travers toutes les formes de photographie ancrées dans le tissu de la ville.
Le festival s'est imposé au fil des ans comme un conteneur cross-média créatif qui rassemble des expositions d'artistes italiens et étrangers, des ateliers, des projections, des concours, des présentations de livres, des rencontres et d'autres événements liés à la photographie. Un lieu de rencontre et d'échange entre le public et les photographes, professionnels et amateurs.
Le dénominateur commun est la ville, l'environnement urbain et l'humanité qui la peuple : la vie quotidienne de la métropole et des petites villes, les contrastes et les contradictions de la ville et de la province, les aperçus artistiques, les géométries architecturales, les fragments de couleur qui brisent la ville grise.
L'objectif du festival est de promouvoir un type de photographie qui porte une valeur artistique, documentaire, ethnographique et sociologique, offrant un témoignage d'aujourd'hui. Un échantillon de la contemporanéité urbaine capable de parler des changements sociaux qui ont lieu dans la grande ville comme dans le petit village.
Les Journées de la Photo de Trieste sont sous la direction artistique d'Angelo Cucchetto, organisateur d'événements, publiciste, critique et promoteur de la photo de Milan, fondateur de Photographers.it, le principal portail italien dédié à la photographie et partenaire médiatique officiel du festival.
Le créateur et le chef de file du projet est dotART, une association culturelle qui, depuis 2009, promeut, sur le territoire et à l'étranger, des initiatives visant à soutenir et à donner de la visibilité aux photographes professionnels et amateurs. En particulier, depuis 2010, dotART promeut le concours international de photographie urbaine URBAN Photo Awards, qui est l'un des principaux "réservoirs culturels" du festival.
En fait, chaque année, les URBAN Photo Awards voient des milliers de photos en compétition et des centaines de participants du monde entier. Il s'agit d'un concours d'envergure internationale en constante progression, l'un des rares à "franchir les frontières" du web, offrant aux photographes une réelle visibilité à travers des dizaines d'expositions photos itinérantes dans le monde entier. Rien qu'en 2017, URBAN a mis en place 36 expositions pour près de 800 photos exposées, dont 300 lors des Journées de la photo de Trieste. Depuis 2011, URBAN a mis en place des expositions en Pologne (Cracovie, Lodz et Varsovie), en Hongrie (Budapest, Pècs et Miskolc), à Chypre (Limassol, Paphos et Nicosie), en Serbie (Belgrade), en Lettonie (Riga), en Slovénie (Koper), en Ukraine (Sumy), en Croatie (Porec), en Allemagne (Berlin), en Colombie (Bucaramanga) et en Italie (Trieste et Rome).
Parallèlement au calendrier principal de l'exposition, se déroule le Trieste Photo Fringe, un "festival généralisé" des Journées de la Photo de Trieste, qui comprend une série d'événements consacrés aux auteurs émergents du monde entier. Un événement capable de faire de la culture à Trieste tout au long de l'année grâce à des manifestations improvisées liées au festival. De janvier à décembre, les expositions du Fringe trouvent place dans un circuit de 12 à 15 lieux sélectionnés et des lieux d'exposition au centre de Trieste, contribuant à donner de la visibilité au festival. Les événements Fringe culminent lors des Journées de la photo de Trieste, avec une série de vernissages d'expositions en présence des auteurs et du directeur artistique.
L'ambition est de donner vie à un événement international sur une base annuelle, visant à devenir un point de référence en Italie et en Europe.
Trieste Photo Days è un festival internazionale dedicato alla fotografia urbana che dal 2014 esplora la contemporaneità attraverso tutte le forme di fotografia ambientate nel tessuto cittadino.
Il festival si è affermato negli anni come contenitore creativo crossmediale che riunisce mostre di artisti italiani e stranieri, workshop, proiezioni, contest, presentazioni di libri, incontri e altri eventi collegati alla fotografia. Un luogo d’incontro e scambio tra il pubblico e i fotografi, professionisti e amatoriali.
Denominatore comune è la Città, l’ambiente urbano e l’umanità che lo popola: la vita quotidiana delle metropoli e dei piccoli centri abitati, i contrasti e le contraddizioni della città e della provincia, gli scorci artistici, le geometrie architettoniche, i frammenti di colore che spezzano il grigiore cittadino.
Obiettivo del festival è promuovere un tipo di fotografia portatrice di valore artistico, documentale, etnografico e sociologico, che offra testimonianza dell’oggi. Uno spaccato di contemporaneità urbana in grado di parlare dei cambiamenti sociali che avvengono nella grande città come nel piccolo villaggio.
Trieste Photo Days si avvale della direzione artistica di Angelo Cucchetto, event planner, pubblicitario, critico e promotore fotografico milanese, fondatore di Photographers.it, principale portale italiano dedicato alla fotografia nonché media partner ufficiale del festival.
Ideatore e capofila del progetto è dotART, associazione culturale che dal 2009 promuove, sul territorio e all’estero, iniziative orientate a dare supporto e visibilità ai fotografi professionisti e amatoriali. In particolare, dotART promuove dal 2010 il concorso internazionale di fotografia urbana URBAN Photo Awards, che è tra i principali “serbatoi culturali” del festival.
URBAN Photo Awards infatti, vede ogni anno migliaia di foto in gara e centinaia di partecipanti da tutto il mondo. È un contest di respiro internazionale in continua crescita, uno dei pochi a “varcare i confini” del web offrendo ai fotografi una reale visibilità attraverso decine di mostre fotografiche itineranti in giro per il mondo. Solo nel 2017, URBAN ha allestito 36 mostre per quasi 800 foto esposte, 300 delle quali nel corso di Trieste Photo Days. Dal 2011 URBAN ha allestito mostre in Polonia (Cracovia, Lodz e Varsavia), Ungheria (Budapest, Pècs e Miskolc), Cipro (Limassol, Paphos e Nicosia), Serbia (Belgrado) Lettonia (Riga), Slovenia (Capodistria), Ucraina (Sumy), Croazia (Parenzo), Germania (Berlino), Colombia (Bucaramanga) e Italia (Trieste e Roma).
Parallelamente al calendario principale della rassegna, si svolge il Trieste Photo Fringe, “festival diffuso” di Trieste Photo Days, che racchiude una serie di eventi dedicati ad autori emergenti da tutto il mondo. Un evento in grado di fare cultura a Trieste nell’arco di tutto l’anno attraverso eventi estemporanei collegati al festival. Da gennaio a dicembre, le mostre del Fringe trovano spazio in un circuito di 12-15 locali e sedi espositive selezionate nel centro di Trieste, contribuendo a dare visibilità al festival. Gli eventi del Fringe culminano durante Trieste Photo Days, con una serie di inaugurazioni di mostre alla presenza degli autori e dell’art director.
L’ambizione è di dare vita a una manifestazione internazionale con cadenza annuale, che miri a diventare un punto di riferimento in Italia e in Europa.
Trieste Photo Days is an international festival dedicated to urban photography that explores the contemporary through all forms of photography set in the urban fabric, since 2014.
The festival has established itself over the years as a cross-media creative container that brings together exhibitions of Italian and foreign artists, workshops, screenings, contests, book presentations, meetings and other events related to street photography, architectural photography and artistic photography. A place of encounter and exchange between the public and both professional and amateur photographers.
The common denominator is the City, with its urban environment and the humanity that populates it: the daily life of metropolis and small inhabited centers, the contrasts and contradictions of the city and the province, the artistic views, the architectural geometries, the fragments of color that break the greyness of the city.
The aim of the festival is to promote a type of photographic carrier of artistic, documental, ethnographic and sociological value, which bears testimony of today. A cross-section of urban contemporaneity able to speak about the social changes taking place in the big city as in the small village too.
Trieste Photo Days avails itself of the artistic direction of Angelo Cucchetto, event planner, critic and photographic promoter from Milan, founder of Photographers.it, the main Italian portal dedicated to photography as well as official media partner of the festival.
Creator and leader of the project is dotART, cultural association that since 2009 promotes, on the territory and abroad, initiatives aimed at giving support and visibility to photographers. In particular, dotART has been promoting the international urban photography competition URBAN Photo Awards, which is among the “cultural reservoirs” of the festival.
URBAN sees every year thousand of partecipating pictures and hundreds of participants from all over the world. It is an always growing international contest, one of the very few that goes “over the boundaries” of Internet offering to photographers real visibility through dozens of international photo exhibitions. Only in 2017 URBAN realized 36 exhibitions displaying about 800 pictures.
