Im Herzen der Stadt Zürich trifft ab 8. September 2023 erstmals Weltklasse-Wissenschaft auf Weltklasse-Fotografie. Gemeinsam kreieren das Festival und die Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich (ETH) ein neues Kommunikationsformat. Es wirbt für eine neue Ära des Verständnisses der Welt. Im Fokus stehen die 17 Nachhaltigen Entwicklungsziele der Vereinten Nationen: Ein multinationaler Kompass zur Entwicklung einer friedlicheren und gerechteren Welt.
Das Ziel von OPEN YOUR EYES ist, die Besucher:innen einzuladen, sich mit den herausfordernden Themen unserer Zeit auf empathische Weise zu beschäftigen und sich dank grossartiger Fotografien in Staunen versetzen zu lassen. Durch die ästhetische Magie der Bilderzählungen verwandeln sich die Gärten, Strassen und Plätze von Zürich in eine Bilder-Stadt. Der öffentliche Raum wird zum Szenenbild für ein Gesamtkunstwerk: Grosszügige Open Air Installationen als Plädoyer für Frieden, Toleranz und Miteinander.

Au cœur de la ville de Zurich, à partir du 8 septembre 2023, la science de classe mondiale rencontrera pour la première fois la photographie de classe mondiale. Ensemble, le festival et l'École polytechnique fédérale de Zurich (ETH) créent un nouveau format de communication. Il promeut une nouvelle ère de compréhension du monde. L'accent est mis sur les 17 objectifs de développement durable des Nations unies : Une boussole multinationale pour le développement d'un monde plus pacifique et plus juste.
Le but d'OPEN YOUR EYES est d'inviter les visiteurs à s'intéresser de manière empathique aux défis de notre époque et à s'émerveiller devant de magnifiques photographies. Grâce à la magie esthétique des récits visuels, les jardins, les rues et les places de Zurich se transforment en une ville d'images. L'espace public devient le décor d'une œuvre d'art totale : de généreuses installations en plein air comme plaidoyer pour la paix, la tolérance et la cohabitation.

Nel cuore della città di Zurigo, la scienza di livello mondiale incontrerà per la prima volta la fotografia di livello mondiale a partire dall'8 settembre 2023. Insieme, il festival e il Politecnico federale di Zurigo (ETH) stanno creando un nuovo formato di comunicazione. Promuove una nuova era di comprensione del mondo. L'attenzione si concentra sui 17 Obiettivi di Sviluppo Sostenibile delle Nazioni Unite: Una bussola multinazionale per lo sviluppo di un mondo più pacifico e giusto.
L'obiettivo di OPEN YOUR EYES è invitare i visitatori a confrontarsi con le sfide del nostro tempo in modo empatico e a lasciarsi stupire da grandi fotografie. Attraverso la magia estetica delle narrazioni per immagini, i giardini, le strade e le piazze di Zurigo si trasformano in una città per immagini. Lo spazio pubblico diventa lo scenario di una Gesamtkunstwerk: generose installazioni all'aperto come appello alla pace, alla tolleranza e all'unione.

In the heart of the city of Zurich, world-class science will meet world-class photography for the first time from September 8, 2023. Together, the festival and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH) are creating a new communication format. It promotes a new era of understanding the world. The focus is on the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals: A Multinational Compass for Developing a More Peaceful and Just World.
The goal of OPEN YOUR EYES is to invite visitors to engage with the challenging issues of our time in an empathetic way and to be amazed thanks to great photographs. Through the aesthetic magic of the picture narratives, the gardens, streets and squares of Zurich are transformed into a picture city. Public space becomes the setting for a Gesamtkunstwerk: generous open-air installations as a plea for peace, tolerance and togetherness.
