Die Biennale Bregaglia 2022 thematisiert die Verbindung der Bergeller Dörfer zueinander. Diese Verbindung machen die Kuratorinnen in der Geographie des Tales, den Naturgewalten, der Anordnung der Dörfer sowie verschiedenen naturhistorischen Ereignissen und sozialhistorischen Entwicklungen aus. Zentral sind etwa die Handelsroute in den Süden, der Bau der Passstrasse und der Albigna-Staumauer, die Reformation oder die Hexenprozesse. Die eingeladenen Künstler:innen waren aufgefordert, sich mit dieser Verbindung auseinanderzusetzen. Hauptaustragungsort der Ausstellung ist der in der Mitte der Val Bregaglia gelegene ehemalige Bergeller Hauptort Vicosoprano.
La biennale Bregaglia 2022 a pour thème le lien entre les villages du Bergell. Les curatrices ont identifié ce lien dans la géographie de la vallée, les forces de la nature, la disposition des villages ainsi que différents événements d'histoire naturelle et développements socio-historiques. La route commerciale vers le sud, la construction de la route du col et du barrage de l'Albigna, la Réforme ou les procès de sorcières sont autant d'éléments centraux. Les artistes invités ont été invités à se pencher sur ces liens. Le lieu principal de l'exposition est l'ancien chef-lieu du Bergell, Vicosoprano, situé au milieu du Val Bregaglia.
La Biennale Bregaglia 2022 è dedicata ai legami tra i villaggi della Bregaglia. Le curatrici individuano tale interconnessione nella geografia della valle, nelle forze della natura, nella disposizione dei villaggi così come in diversi accadimenti e sviluppi storico-naturali e storico-sociali. Momenti salienti della sua storia sono ad esempio quelli legati alla via commerciale verso sud, alla costruzione della strada del valico e della diga dell’Albigna, alla Riforma o ai processi alle streghe. Alle artiste e agli artisti invitati è stato chiesto di prendere in esame questi legami. La sede principale della mostra è Vicosoprano, al centro della Val Bregaglia di cui è stata capoluogo.
The Bregaglia Biennale 2022 thematizes the connection of the Bergell villages to each other. The curators identify this connection in the geography of the valley, the forces of nature, the arrangement of the villages, and various natural-historical events and social-historical developments. Central are, for example, the trade route to the south, the construction of the pass road and the Albigna dam, the Reformation or the witch trials. The invited artists were asked to deal with this connection. The main venue of the exhibition is Vicosoprano, the former capital of Bergell, located in the middle of the Val Bregaglia.
