Das Belfast Photo Festival ist eine gemeinnützige Organisation, die eines der führenden internationalen Festivals für Fotografie in Großbritannien und das Festival der visuellen Künste in Nordirland präsentiert.
Das 2011 ins Leben gerufene, mittlerweile jährlich stattfindende Fotoevent wurde als eines der "besten Fotofestivals der Welt" (Capture Magazine) bezeichnet und zieht jedes Jahr mehr als 80 Tausend Besucher an, die in 30 Museen, Galerien und öffentlichen Räumen einige der besten nationalen und internationalen zeitgenössischen Fotografien feiern. Das Festival, das durch Populärkultur, zugängliche Themen und unerwartete Begegnungen mit der Fotografie eine große Anziehungskraft ausübt, zielt darauf ab, die Freude und Teilnahme der Öffentlichkeit zu wecken und zu inspirieren, indem es das am besten zugängliche künstlerische Medium nutzt und es auf coole und ungewöhnliche Weise einem neuen Publikum nahebringt.
Das Programm setzt sich konsequent mit dem politischen, sozialen und kulturellen Klima in Belfast auseinander, indem es globale Themen aufgreift und diese durch hochkarätige internationale Fotografie belebt.
Das Festival besteht aus Ausstellungen, Vorträgen, Symposien, Workshops, Vorführungen, Meisterklassen, Portfolio-Reviews und Touren.

Lancé en 2011, cet événement photographique désormais annuel a été décrit comme l'un des "meilleurs festivals de photographie au monde" (Capture Magazine) et attire plus de 80 000 visiteurs par an, célébrant certaines des meilleures photographies contemporaines nationales et internationales dans 30 musées, galeries et espaces publics. Belfast Photo Festival is a not-for-profit organisation that presents one of the leading International Festivals of photography in the United Kingdom and the Visual Arts Festival of Northern Ireland.
Launched in 2011, this now annual photographic event has been described as one of the "best photography festivals in the world" (Capture Magazine) and attracts upwards of 80 thousand visitors a year, celebrating some of the finest National and International contemporary photography across 30 museums, galleries and public spaces. Capturing wide appeal through popular culture, accessible themes and unexpected encounters with photography, the festival aims to instil and inspire public enjoyment and participation by utilising the most accessible artistic medium and bringing it to new audiences in cool and unusual ways.
