Tilt/Shift – Experiment als Normalzustand
Die zeitgleichen und weltweiten Krisen offenbaren uns ein lange unvorstellbares Scheitern, auch in bisher sicher geglaubten Handlungsfeldern unserer Gesellschaft. Obwohl es keinen Anspruch auf einen Normalzustand der Welt gibt, schwindet doch das Gefühl der Sicherheit für eine immer größer werdende Anzahl von Menschen: Gewohnte Sichtweisen brechen weg, Gewissheiten verschieben sich.
Das Versprechen, alles bleibt gut, oder wird schon wieder gut werden, löst sich gerade auf und lässt sich kaum noch von der Gegenwart in die Zukunft weiterführen. Selbst Menschen, die sich bislang in ihrem Lebensraum sicher wähnten, nehmen ihren Alltag immer öfter bedroht war. Denkmuster werden hinterfragt und diskutiert – konstruktiv von Gruppen und Individuen, aber auch polarisierend von Faktenverdrehern. Alte Diskurse über eurozentrisch und postkolonial geprägte Blicke auf die Welt – im Großen und Kleinen – werden fortgeführt.
Krisenzeiten bedeuten nicht nur Verunsicherung, sondern können – trotz allem – auch Chancen aufzeigen. Potentiale werden, teils der Not geschuldet, auf allen Ebenen auf Freiräume, Neues und Weiterentwicklungen überprüft. Wird das Experiment, sich ständig neu orientieren zu müssen, jetzt zum Normalzustand? Wie kann Fotografie die enormen Veränderungen erfassen? Welche Bilder ermöglichen es uns, eine verunsicherte, diverse Welt im turbulenten und komplexen Wandel besser zu verstehen – und den offenen Ausgang des Experiments im Blick zu haben?
Les crises simultanées et mondiales nous révèlent un échec longtemps inimaginable, même dans des domaines d'action de notre société que l'on croyait jusqu'ici sûrs. Bien qu'il n'existe aucune prétention à un état normal du monde, le sentiment de sécurité s'amenuise pour un nombre toujours plus grand de personnes : Les points de vue habituels s'effondrent, les certitudes se déplacent.
La promesse que tout ira bien, ou que tout ira bien à nouveau, est en train de se dissoudre et ne peut plus guère être transposée du présent à l'avenir. Même les personnes qui se croyaient jusqu'à présent en sécurité dans leur espace de vie voient leur quotidien de plus en plus souvent menacé. Les modèles de pensée sont remis en question et discutés - de manière constructive par des groupes et des individus, mais aussi de manière polarisante par des déformateurs de faits. Les anciens discours sur les regards eurocentriques et postcoloniaux sur le monde - à grande et à petite échelle - se poursuivent.
Les périodes de crise ne sont pas seulement synonymes d'incertitude, elles peuvent aussi - malgré tout - révéler des opportunités. Les potentiels, en partie dus à la nécessité, sont examinés à tous les niveaux pour trouver des espaces de liberté, des nouveautés et des développements. L'expérience consistant à devoir se réorienter en permanence devient-elle désormais la norme ? Comment la photographie peut-elle saisir les énormes changements ? Quels visuels nous permettent de mieux comprendre un monde incertain et diversifié en proie à des changements turbulents et complexes - et de garder en vue l'issue ouverte de l'expérience ?
Le crisi simultanee e mondiali ci rivelano un fallimento a lungo inimmaginabile, anche in campi d'azione della nostra società che prima si credevano sicuri. Sebbene non ci sia alcuna pretesa di uno stato normale del mondo, la sensazione di sicurezza sta svanendo per un numero sempre maggiore di persone: Le prospettive familiari si stanno rompendo, le certezze si stanno spostando.
La promessa che tutto andrà bene, o che andrà bene, si sta dissolvendo e difficilmente può essere portata avanti dal presente al futuro. Anche le persone che prima pensavano di essere al sicuro nel loro spazio vitale percepiscono sempre più spesso la loro vita quotidiana come minacciata. I modelli di pensiero vengono messi in discussione e discussi - in modo costruttivo da gruppi e individui, ma anche in modo polarizzante da chi si occupa di fatti. Vecchi discorsi sulla visione eurocentrica e postcoloniale del mondo - grande e piccolo - vengono portati avanti.
I periodi di crisi non sono solo sinonimo di incertezza, ma possono, nonostante tutto, rivelare anche delle opportunità. Le potenzialità, in parte dovute alla necessità, vengono esaminate a tutti i livelli per ottenere spazi liberi, novità e ulteriori sviluppi. L'esperimento di doversi costantemente riorientare sta diventando la normalità? Come può la fotografia catturare questi enormi cambiamenti? Quali immagini ci permettono di comprendere meglio un mondo inquieto e diversificato in un cambiamento turbolento e complesso - e di tenere d'occhio l'esito aperto dell'esperimento?
The simultaneous and worldwide crises reveal to us a failure that has long been unimaginable, even in fields of action of our society that were previously believed to be secure. Although there is no claim to a normal state of the world, the feeling of security is fading for an ever-increasing number of people: Familiar ways of seeing things are breaking away, certainties are shifting.
The promise that everything will remain fine, or will be fine, is dissolving and can hardly be carried forward from the present into the future. Even people who previously thought they were secure in their living space are increasingly finding their everyday lives threatened. Patterns of thought are being questioned and discussed - constructively by groups and individuals, but also polarizingly by fact-twisters. Old discourses about Eurocentric and postcolonial views of the world - large and small - are being continued.
Times of crisis do not only mean uncertainty, but can - in spite of everything - also reveal opportunities. Potentials are examined, partly due to necessity, on all levels for free spaces, new things and further developments. Is the experiment of having to constantly reorient oneself now becoming the norm? How can photography capture the enormous changes? Which images enable us to better understand an unsettled, diverse world in turbulent and complex change - and to keep an eye on the open outcome of the experiment?
