Die 11. Ausgabe des internationalen Fotofestivals KYOTOGRAPHIE findet vom 15. April bis 14. Mai 2023 statt und präsentiert 14 Ausstellungen an ikonischen Orten in Kyoto. Das internationale Fotofestival KYOTOGRAPHIE findet jährlich über vier Wochen in einem in Asien einzigartigen Stil statt. Die Ausstellungen werden in verschiedenen traditionellen und zeitgenössischen Räumen mit einer originellen Szenografie kreativ in Szene gesetzt. Das Festival schafft Möglichkeiten und bringt Menschen jeden Alters, jeder Kultur und jedes Hintergrunds zusammen. Die KYOTOGRAPHIE ist mittlerweile als eines der weltweit führenden Fotografie-Events anerkannt und hat seit 2013 rund 1 350 000 Besucher aus Japan und Übersee angezogen. Unser Thema für 2023 lautet "BORDER".

Das Leben bewohnt und verteidigt verschiedene Grenzen. Diese Linien formen unsere Existenz und rahmen unsere Erfahrungen ein; sie schützen, zerstören, unterscheiden und differenzieren das Leben in all seinen Formen. Der menschliche Instinkt treibt uns an, uns weiterzuentwickeln, neue Grenzen zu überwinden und neue Territorien zu schaffen. Dieser angeborene Wunsch, sich abzugrenzen und Grenzen zu überschreiten, ist eine mächtige Kraft der Natur und für das Überleben unerlässlich. Im Jahr 2023 sind wir auf der Suche nach diesen Grenzen, die wir als physisch, vorübergehend, flüchtig oder transparent bezeichnen.

La 11e édition du festival international de photographie KYOTOGRAPHIE se tiendra du 15 avril au 14 mai 2023 et présentera 14 expositions dans des lieux emblématiques de Kyoto. Le festival international de la photographie KYOTOGRAPHIE se tient chaque année pendant quatre semaines dans un style unique en Asie. Les expositions sont mises en scène de manière créative dans divers cadres traditionnels et contemporains avec une scénographie originale. Le festival crée des opportunités, rassemblant des personnes de tous âges, de toutes cultures et de tous horizons. Désormais reconnu comme l'un des principaux événements de photographie au monde, KYOTOGRAPHIE a attiré quelque 1 350 000 visiteurs du Japon et de l'étranger depuis 2013. Notre thème pour 2023 est "LA FRONTIÈRE".

La vie habite et défend diverses frontières. Ces lignes façonnent notre existence et encadrent notre expérience ; elles protègent, détruisent, discriminent et différencient la vie sous toutes ses formes. L'instinct humain nous pousse à évoluer, à affronter de nouvelles frontières et à créer de nouveaux territoires. Ce désir inné de différencier et de briser les frontières est une force puissante de la nature, essentielle à la survie. En 2023, nous recherchons ces frontières, identifiées comme physiques, temporaires, transitoires ou transparentes.

L'undicesima edizione del KYOTOGRAPHIE International Photography Festival si terrà dal 15 aprile al 14 maggio 2023 e presenterà 14 mostre in luoghi iconici di Kyoto. Il KYOTOGRAPHIE International Photography Festival si svolge ogni anno nell'arco di quattro settimane con uno stile unico in Asia. Le mostre sono allestite in modo creativo in vari ambienti tradizionali e contemporanei con scenografie originali. Il festival crea opportunità, riunendo persone di ogni età, cultura e provenienza. Riconosciuto come uno dei principali eventi fotografici al mondo, dal 2013 KYOTOGRAPHIE ha attirato circa 1.350.000 visitatori dal Giappone e dall'estero. Il nostro tema per il 2023 è "BORDER".

La vita abita e difende diversi confini. Queste linee modellano la nostra esistenza e inquadrano la nostra esperienza; proteggono, distruggono, discriminano e differenziano la vita in tutte le sue forme. L'istinto umano ci spinge a evolverci, ad affrontare nuove frontiere e a creare nuovi territori. Questo desiderio innato di differenziare e rompere i confini è una forza potente in natura ed è essenziale per la sopravvivenza. Nel 2023, cerchiamo questi confini, identificati come fisici, temporanei, transitori o trasparenti.

The 11th edition of the KYOTOGRAPHIE International Photography Festival will be held from April 15th–May 14th, 2023, presenting 14 exhibitions in iconic Kyoto venues. The KYOTOGRAPHIE International Photography Festival is held annually over four weeks in a style that is unique in Asia. Exhibitions are staged creatively in various traditional and contemporary settings with original scenography. The festival creates opportunities, bringing people together of all ages, cultures, and backgrounds. Now recognized as one of the worlds leading photography events, KYOTOGRAPHIE has attracted some 1,350,000 visitors from within Japan and overseas since 2013. Our theme for 2023 is ‘BORDER.’

Life inhabits and defends various borders. These lines shape our existence and frame our experience; they protect, destroy, discriminate, and differentiate life in all forms. Human instinct pushes us to evolve, face new frontiers and create new territories. This innate desire to differentiate and break boundaries is a powerful force in nature and essential to survival. In 2023, we seek out these borders, identified as physical, temporary, transient, or transparent.
