Acht professionelle Zentralschweizer Fotografinnen und Fotografen stellen ihre rund um den Globus realisierten Werke aus. Die eingeladene preisgekrönte kolumbianische Fotografin Juanita Escobar zeigt uns ihre Perspektive auf das für uns Heimische, die Zentralschweiz.
Als Photographer in Residence reist Juanita Escobar zehn Tage vor Ausstellungseröffnung nach Luzern. Sie wird sich in dieser Zeit intensiv mit der Zentralschweiz beschäftigen und ihre Wahrnehmung unserer Region fotografisch verarbeiten. „Wir sind sehr gespannt auf Juanita Escobars künstlerische Auseinandersetzung mit den Menschen, der Kultur und der Natur hier in der Zentralschweiz“, freut sich Albin Bieri, Präsident der Fotodok.
Ein Blick in die Welt
Die Beobachtungen von Juanita Escobar werden an der Fotowerkschau 2021 auf die Arbeiten von acht einheimischen Künstlerinnen und Künstler treffen und ein Spannungsfeld erzeugen: Was macht es mit uns, wenn uns das Vertraute durch eine andere Linse präsentiert wird? Wie gehen die Zentralschweizer Fotografinnen und Fotografen mit dem Unvertrauten in den Ländern ihres Wirkens um? Die Ausstellung will einen Dialog über Heimisches und Fremdes, über Gewöhnliches und Aussergewöhnliches anregen und den grenzüberschreitenden Perspektivenwechsel fördern.
Neues Konzept
Die Stiftung Fotodok verwaltet fotografische Vor- und Nachlässe und betreut ein Online-Lexikon Zentralschweizer Fotografinnen und Fotografen mit Archivcharakter. Dazu bietet sie mit der zweijährlich stattfindenden Fotowerkschau Zentralschweizer Künstlerinnen und Künstlern und insbesondere auch jungen Talenten eine Plattform. Mit dem Photographer in Residence-Konzept will die Stiftung Fotodok die Vermittlung des Kulturguts Fotografie in der Zentralschweiz weiter voranbringen. „Die diesjährige Fotowerkschau zeigt die Vielfalt und internationale Bedeutung von Zentralschweizer Fotografinnen und Fotografen auf“, sagt Marianne Suppiger, Stiftungsrätin und verantwortlich für die Fotowerkschau 2021. Am Sonntag, 19. Dezember 2021, laden die Veranstalter zur Matinée mit Rundgang durch die Ausstellung und Podiumsdiskussion mit den Ausstellenden.

En tant que photographe en résidence, Juanita Escobar se rendra à Lucerne dix jours avant l'ouverture de l'exposition. Durant cette période, elle s'intéressera de près à la Suisse centrale et traitera par la photographie sa perception de notre région. "Nous sommes très impatients de voir la confrontation artistique de Juanita Escobar avec les gens, la culture et la nature ici en Suisse centrale", se réjouit Albin Bieri, président de Fotodok.
Un regard sur le monde: Les observations de Juanita Escobar rencontreront les travaux de huit artistes locaux lors de l'exposition de photos 2021 et créeront un champ de tensions : qu'est-ce que cela nous fait lorsque ce qui nous est familier nous est présenté à travers une autre lentille ? Comment les photographes de Suisse centrale abordent-ils ce qui ne leur est pas familier dans les pays où ils travaillent ? L'exposition entend susciter un dialogue sur le local et l'étranger, sur l'ordinaire et l'extraordinaire, et encourager le changement de perspective transfrontalier.
Nouveau concept: La fondation Fotodok gère des fonds photographiques antérieurs et postérieurs et s'occupe d'un lexique en ligne des photographes de Suisse centrale à caractère d'archives. De plus, elle offre une plate-forme aux artistes de Suisse centrale, et notamment aux jeunes talents, avec l'exposition bisannuelle de photos. Avec le concept de Photographer in Residence, la fondation Fotodok souhaite faire progresser la transmission du bien culturel qu'est la photographie en Suisse centrale. "L'exposition de photos de cette année montre la diversité et l'importance internationale des photographes de Suisse centrale", explique Marianne Suppiger, membre du conseil de la fondation et responsable de l'exposition de photos 2021. Le dimanche 19 décembre 2021, les organisateurs invitent à une matinée avec visite de l'exposition et discussion en table ronde avec les exposants.

Eight professional photographers from Central Switzerland exhibit their works realized around the globe. The invited award-winning Colombian photographer Juanita Escobar shows us her perspective on what is native to us, Central Switzerland.
As Photographer in Residence, Juanita Escobar will travel to Lucerne ten days before the exhibition opens. During this time, she will intensively explore Central Switzerland and process her perception of our region photographically. A look at the worldJuanita Escobar's observations will meet the works of eight local artists at the Fotowerkschau 2021, creating a field of tension: what does it do to us when the familiar is presented to us through a different lens? New conceptThe Fotodok Foundation manages photographic estates and bequests and maintains an online encyclopedia of Central Swiss photographers with an archival character. In addition, it offers a platform for Central Swiss artists and especially for young talents with the biennial Fotowerkschau. With the Photographer in Residence concept, the Fotodok Foundation aims to further promote the communication of photography as a cultural asset in Central Switzerland. "This year's Fotowerkschau highlights the diversity and international significance of Central Swiss photographers," says Marianne Suppiger, member of the foundation's board of directors and responsible for the Fotowerkschau 2021.
